ABOUT US

Peer support workers are people who have been successful in the recovery process who help others experiencing similar situations. Through shared understanding, respect, and mutual empowerment, peer support workers help people become and stay engaged in the recovery process and reduce the likelihood of relapse.

Participants in this session will learn about best practices when working with survivors of brain injury. From identification, to accommodations, to how to provide structure, this webinar will focus on how peer supporters can optimally support their peers who are affected by brain injury.​​

The event will be followed by PSAND Casual Connections and Questions at 1:00 pm -- a time when you can connect with others, ask about topics affecting you, and discuss concerns. 
 
Plan to join PSAND quarterly for our sessions designed to inform and educate peers on topics relevant to the needs and interests of the peer support specialist role.

All Lunch and Learn sessions share the following objectives:
  • Cross-learning and knowledge sharing between peer support specialists.

  • Identifying training and education needs of peer support specialists.

  • Fostering peer relationships.

  • Establishing environment of support, trust, and continuous development.
